History
The Centro Universitario del Sur, CUSur, was created on May 1994, originally with two campuses, Ciudad Guzman and Autlán. On August 5th of the same year the structure is modified separating the two campuses into two independent university campus, the Centro Universitario de la Costa Sur in Autlán and the CUSur, at Ciudad Guzmán also know as Zapotlán.
Veterinary and Nursing were the first two academic programs on campus. In 1994 the Medicine and Law programs were opened and Law were opened and the already opened academic program of Nursery (1997) is incorporated to a professional technician level, the master in MBA, master in Food Science.
In 2004 it suffers an important growth, giving birth to 5 new academic programs were implemented. Being in Psychology, Nutrition, International Business, Nursery and Education. Three two year academic programs were also implemented on computer science, safety and ecotourism.
Centro Universitario del Sur has engaged from the beginning with the South region of Jalisco, forming professionals with abilities such as technician, social, civic, ecologic and with human values. Attitude which allows them to contribute in the development of their community, their state, and also for them to have a better life quality.
